John Koller is currently the president of KAI Consulting, and practice lead for the high-availability infrastructure and Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Planning services. Prior to reactivating KAI, John was most recently Director of Healthcare Technology at EMC2 Corporation. He was responsible for the creation and direction of the technical team and the solutions produced by Healthcare Solutions. In this capacity he also functioned as the Technology Strategist for Healthcare Solutions and technology evangelist to the key healthcare industry players. John’s career spans over 20 years in all facets of information technology. His experiences span a wide range of technology including: multinational enterprise networking, information systems security, massively parallel and high availability computer systems, storage systems and networking and clinical IT solutions including medical image management systems. Assignments in development, manufacturing, product services, professional services, training, sales and marketing, allow for a broad perspective when dealing with a multifaceted organization. John’s career includes tours of duty with multiple organizations in AT&T including Bell Labs and AT&T’s acquisition of NCR. His most recent assignment prior to EMC was for Philips Medical Systems. At Philips he served as the Director of Technology Services and division CTO for their North American Integrated Clinical Solutions division. During this time, his team was responsible for the pre-sale technology support, project management, workflow analysis, integration and enterprise networking for the largest commercial Picture Archiving and Communications (PACS) installation in the world. John has authored many articles in technology and professional publications and is involved in numerous technology and healthcare related speaking engagements including, as a member of the faculty, the PACS200x conferences sponsored by the University of Rochester. John is a member of multiple industry organizations and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of Reilly Communications - Imaging Technology News and the Board of Directors of HealthSphere, a not-for-profit healthcare education company.
